The Royal House of Norway - English
Happy 17th of May!
On 17 May the whole country celebrates Constitution Day with children's parades. True to tradition, Their Majesties The King and Queen were joined by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Princess Ingrid Alexandra on the Palace Balcony to greet the children's parade i Oslo.
This tradition was established in 1906 by King Haakon and Queen Maud, and has been upheld every year since, except in 1910 due to the death of Queen Maud's father and during World War II.
